I am someone who does not believe in holding us loyal to the party politics when they lose sight of your needs or force us to the extreme right or left ignoring your voice. A good leader will demand freedom of political deliberation as to continuously fight for the needs of the people in which they represent. I support some liberal and conservative principles while reserving my right to disagree with both when the sensible way ahead clearly justifies such actions. I care about finding the right workable solution to a problem which results in the greatest prosperity for the people at the least amount of cost or hardship. An efficient government will, without exception, embrace fiscal responsibility, wasteful spending restraint, freedom of personal choices and strong national defense diplomacy.
Welcome to "Your Voice". My name is Candice Britton. I am running for the office of the U.S. House of Representatives (Congressional District 1) in Missouri. I, respectfully, ask you to choose me on August 7, 2012 at the Democratic Primary.
I am running for U.S. Representative to be"Your Voice". I believe that our Country is in great trouble. I know how every government Entitlement program works; more importantly, I know firsthand that the existing programs do not work! I LIVE THEM! The federal government affects our lives daily, and not always for the good. Most government programs are written with “regulations", not laws. We have no say over these regulations that are written by unelected government officials. We need more law… less regulation. Who do you call when an agency such as Housing and Urban Development (HUD) or the Public Housing Authority (PHA), or Medicare do not follow the Regulations as written? Who do you call when the private contractors do as they wish? Who do you call when your Part D provider won't pay for the medicine you need? What legal recourses do you have? Who do you call? We need laws, not regulations, to govern these programs! Instead, they are only governed by regulations… this leaves you powerless with no recourse when they are not being administered properly.
We need laws and true oversight. "Your Voice" needs to be heard and represented! And NOW is your time to KNOW your rights. My opponent has had the Missouri Congressional District 01 for 11 years, 12 years by the time of the 2012 general election. What has my opponent done for the people of CD1? The unemployment rate is above 8% in Congressional District 01. Among the Afro-American constituents of CD1 the unemployment rate is approximately 16% to 20% ("http://www.bet.com/news/national/2011/04/01/). This was allowed to happen on my opponent’s watch. Are you better off today than you were 11 to 12 years ago?
| A. | Jobs, Jobs. Jobs. We must bring back our manufacturing base. No country or its people can survive or secure themselves without making its own products. We can do this by giving our manufacturers a target corporate tax rate of 15% or the lowest of any other country. This would only be given to American manufacturers who return to America and bring the jobs back to the American people. The above is just one quick step we can do. |
| B. | "U.S. manufacturers face higher tax costs than almost all of our competitors in other countries. The corporate tax rate in America is the second highest among developed nations, and it puts the manufacturing industry at a significant competitive disadvantage in the global marketplace. Tax cuts are proven ways to improve competitiveness and generate growth. Lowering the tax rate would provide manufacturers with more resources to expand operations and create jobs. Predictability and reliability in the United States tax code would allow for long-term planning and investments, enabling us to be competitive." http://www.nam.org, National Association Of Manufacturers. |
| C. | Both parties are responsible for our huge Debt and Deficit. We need to live within our means and cut spending, overhaul our outdated unfair tax system, stop the pork spending. These are just a few things we need to do; there is so much more. |
| D. | Stop taking money out of the Social Security and Medicare Trust Funds for other government programs (example: Trade Agreements, "Affordable Health Care for America Act", and pork projects: it goes on and on and on). |
| E. | The Democrats and Republicans refuse to work together. It has become more about their own political gain. They have to instate cooperation and stop the party attacks on each other by talking points and spins of the day. The deliberate feud between the parties keeps this great Country and her people divided. Due to this, they are free to do as they please, such as enacting legislation the majority of the people are against. It's all about politics and the party for my opponent! If given the opportunity, I will be "Your Voice". |
Stand up! Use your "vote" = "Your Voice" to regain your seat (CD1, MO), take back your, our children's and your grandchildren’s future! Vote "Your Voice" = Candice Britton! We desperately need to vote for a change… I will listen and represent YOU!
Elect me, "Your Voice", and I will promise you two things:
1) I will read and study each and every piece of legislation before I vote. If I am not given the appropriate time to do this, I will vote no.
2) I will personally visit every government agency that affects our lives and watch them very closely. This is called "oversight". I will fight for you!

This seat belongs to you… "Your Voice" should be heard! As "Your Voice" I will represent and work tirelessly for you.
